Phantom Nebula fountain pen series. It was Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking who popularized the idea that earth and every living thing is made of star matter. This train of thought could refer to this pen as well. Produced in limited edition of 500 pieces with each pen numbered, this series is inspired by actual NASA images of nebulas, hence its name. The pens are made of solid brass and are painted in three different colors. These colors include multi-layers of dark and light blue and dark brown colors which are painted using a hand held spray gun, in order to create a unique color overlap that resembles images of nebulas. Then the surface of each pen is thermo-baked, which turns the paint into beautiful hardened enamel. Finally, it is topped with multi-layers of clear coating for added protection and to provide a silky smooth finish. There are no two pens alike, because the spraying of the paint on each pen is a manual process and each pen has a slightly different color overlap pattern. All fittings are solid brass with 18-karat gold plating and are hallmarked. The pen has a screw-on cap and a medium size nib. The ergonomically designed shape of the pen allows for an exceptionally balanced writing experience. Suitable for small, medium and large size hands.
